This app presents a virtual simulation of traditional clay pottery that allows users to freely create unique pottery ceramics. The app contains very clear and realistic graphics along with calming background music. The control methods on the pottery wheel are simple and intuitive, requiring the player to simply swipe their finger in the direction they would like to mold the clay.

The game follows a ‘storyline’ concept where the user can choose to accept ‘requests’ for pottery pieces in exchange for coins. These coins can also be earned by selling pieces that the user has created in an auction within the app. Coins can then be redeemed within the ‘Shop’ feature in exchange for more stencil designs and additional colours. The free version of this app allows the user to create their own pottery and select from 19 different stencil designs and a wide variety of colour options, allowing the user to customize their creation with endless possibilities. Additionally, the free version is equipped with 3 requests. Users are not required to engage with these requests and the game can be played without any problems should the user choose to ignore them. The free version of the app includes full-screen adverts that occur very infrequently and can be easily dismissed.

Additional stencil designs (Aztec, Egyptian, Greek, etc.), pottery requests and advert removal are available in the paid version of the app. Due to the creative nature of the game and the large selection of stencils available within the free version, we do not consider the paid version to be necessary for users to enjoy pottery making.

Recommended settings

From the app's launch screen, access the Settings menu by tapping the wheel icon on the icon in the top right corner. These are our recommended settings:

• Sound (user preference)

• Language (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian)

To create a piece:

• Tap Create from the main menu screen

• To change the height of your piece, place your finger in the middle of the spinning piece of clay. Slide up to make it taller, slide down to make it shorter

• To make your piece wider or narrower, slide your finger inwards (to make it narrow) or outwards (to make it wider) at a particular segment

• Once you are satisfied with your piece, tap the fire icon on the bottom right corner of the screen to send your piece to the kiln. Confirm your selection with the checkmark icon

• To decorate your piece, tap the Brushes icon on the right hand side of the screen to select a stencil. Tap the Colours icon to select the colour of your paint

  • Tip: decorations are not necessary for a finished piece; however, more complex/decorated pieces sell for more coins at the auction.

• Once you are satisfied with your finished piece, tap the Ready icon on the bottom right corner of the screen. Confirm your selection with the checkmark icon

• Take a picture of your finished piece by clicking on the camera icon on the bottom right corner

• If you would like to keep the piece in your collection, tap the Home icon on the right hand side of the screen to return to the main menu.

  • Note: The free version only allows up to 5 pieces in the collection. Once this limit has been reached, the user must delete or sell pieces in order to be able to create new ones.

• If you would like to sell your piece and earn coins, tap the Sell icon on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Confirm your selection with the checkmark icon

To redeem coins at the store:

• Tap Shop from the main menu screen

• To purchase an additional colour, click on the Colours icon along the top of the screen

  • Select the colour you would like to purchase. Tap the Buy icon below your selected colour

• To purchase additional stencil patterns, click on the Basic or African icon (2nd & 3rd icons from the left) along the top of the screen

  • Select the pattern you would like to purchase. Tap the Buy icon below your selected option

Note: The free version of the app only allows users to purchase stencil patterns within the Basic and African categories. To unlock all other categories, please upgrade to the paid version.
